Well, everyone’s been working hard, making their way through another challenging year so we thought it was time for a celebration! And everyone is invited, all with Auslan interpretation. Get your tickets here and all that pre-book will also receive a copy of the Gather zine.
The event celebrates the first season of Gather, with 8 episodes exploring the various themes of booksellers, travel, songlines, fairytales, coming of age, and adaptation. The final episode themed Collecting will be out on Friday December 3rd. Check out all the episodes here
Gather has been described as “a podcast that draws you into another world [that] gently guides you to a place of wonder as you see the world through another’s eyes.”
The party is a chance to experience the world of the podcast live, and support the work of local artists, along with work to improve accessibility. Join the facebook event here
As part of a Creative Victoria grant for the podcast Amy has been able to consult with Arts Access Victoria on ways to improve accessibility to the podcast and worked with Ballarat’s Tech Studio to make upgrades to our website. This has involved providing alt text and improved headings for those with low vision, and producing episode transcripts for the deaf and hard of hearing (they’re on the way!)
Amy had the pleasure of working with Deaf filmmaker and Auslan lecturer Ramas McRae to be a featured guest on Gather, and to produce a film in Auslan welcoming people to Gather to sit on the website. This film will be shown as part of the Gather Party which will also have live Auslan interpretation throughout and is a chance for people with various access needs to come together and celebrate creativity and connection. It is also Minerva’s 5th birthday!

Hosted by Amy Tsilemanis, with a welcome to Country from Deanne Gilson, and Sophie Livitsanis as concierge.
Enjoy a feast of local creative talent with music from Shadow Feet, FLOC and deborahN; poetry from Sarah Hart and Sean M Whelan; film from Ramas McRae and a special premiere screening of ‘Intimacy in Isolation’ a pandemic collaboration from Bronwyn Blaiklock, Erin M McCuskey and Lily Paskas.
We will also launch Gather Threads – one-off clothing pieces with Amy’s collages in partnership with seamstress Christine Crawshaw – and have Gather zines for sale, featuring all the guests and fabulousness from Season 1. Pre-book your tickets and you’ll get a free copy!
